I began developing a Xamarin Forms app a couple weeks ago and have gotten to the point where I need a debugger, and I've never been able to get it to work. Does Android debugging work through Xamarin Studio on a Mac? I connect my Android via USB, start debugging which builds and deploys the app. Jun 22, 2018 You will now have several debug options at the top of the Debug panel, such as “Run Android on device” and “Attach to running iOS on device” Visual Studio Code needs one more thing in order to connect to running devices: the iOS WebKit Debug Proxy (IWDP). Download old photoshop versions mac. ADB or Android Debug Bridge is a command-line tool used for communicating with an Android device. It is bundled with Android SDK.So before you start to setup ADB, we will need to download Android SDK.Note that since SDK runs on JAVA, you will need to make sure you have JDK installed and running on your computer. https://mapsintensive989.weebly.com/recoverit-the-best-mac-trash-recovery-software.html. You can get JAVA from its respective site.
Hidden Debug App On Android
- I've got the same issue, all of a sudden. Tried 2 Android devices (HTC One and a Samsung tablet). Rebooted my mac. Turned on and off Use Shared Runtime and Fast assembly deployment. Then I got serious. Tried other apps that have worked in the past - Just to make sure it wasn't a problem with my code - maybe I added a comma somewhere that really ticked things off. No dice. This was working earlier in the week. Any chance this has something to do with an update to Xamarin Studio? This is absolutely a barrier to my progress right now. Any advice is much appreciated. Guess I'll go fool with some Angular or Node code in the meantime.
- Also, I've tried 5.7 and 5.7.1 versions of Xamarin studio. No luck.
- And now I've re-installed Xamarin studio. Contact sheet software for mac download. And still no dice. iOS breakpoints work just fine, just as they always have. Android breakpoints don't fire either on devices or in the Xamarin Android player. https://giftenergy304.weebly.com/nokia-6234-unlock-code-free.html.Any advice on how to diagnose this problem? I had to talk my 6 year old down yesterday when the video game went buggy and froze his guy. I told him that computers don't always do what you want, but it was no reason to cry. I would like to cry now, but that would make me a hypocrite.
- OK, I have a workaround. I usually debug into iOS (as that simulator is pretty fast). So my startup project is usually set to iOS. Thinkfree office cost. https://ameblo.jp/pferathubad1988/entry-12639685720.html. When I want to debug android, I right click on my Droid project and select Run As, and then choose the connected device to run it as. This has worked for me for quite some time.Anyway, sitting here in my bed with the laptop trying one last thing, I set the startup project to be the Droid one. Then run it. Breakpoint hits just fine. So to sum up:Debugging Android in Xamarin Studio? Probably should set it as the startup project. Shouldn't need to, but you may have to. If anyone else comes across this same issue, please post it here so I don't sound like a crazy person. Or maybe just so I don't become a crazy person.
- 'Run With'->'Some Device' is equivalent to 'Start Without Debugging'.
- @mhutch - That may be so, but I could swear I've been debugging that way for weeks. I know I wasn't running it as the startup project. I can't explain why my workflow had to change. Maybe I hadn't actually set any Android breakpoints before, but that seems unlikely. It also doesn't make sense to default to running a debug build in a mode without debugging. I can see it's doing a Debug build, why would I do that unless I were interested in Debugging? If I wanted Release style behavior, I'd be building in Release. I know Debugging and the build aren't linked per se, but you'd think the default behavior when choosing 'run with' would mirror the build type. Thanks for the reply, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.
- A debug build and running in the debugger are very different things. You can debug a release build, or run a debug build without debugging. https://mapsintensive989.weebly.com/brother-hl-l2300d-software-mac.html.This is arguably a UX issue - the Run -> Run With workflow simply isn't a workflow we've optimized.
- Yes, I agree - I think the default for Run -> Run With when doing a Debug build should probably kick off the debugger. At least by putting this in the forum, someone else who gets into the same issue will be able to find their way out.
